I couldn't sleep at night until i discovered these natural 'sleep candies' - and they're so easy to make!

We have all had nights where we couldn't fall asleep and spent hours tossing and turning. Fortunately, these nights are rare for most of us.
But it might surprise you to learn that 10 percent of us suffer from chronic insomnia disorder, which occurs at least three times per week for at least three months.
There are many sleep-aid products on the market, but some are not recommended for long-term use.
Now, a new recommendation has emerged in the form of a natural product found abundantly in everyday foods: Magnesium.
The Miracle Mineral
Magnesium is a mineral that our body needs to maintain a healthy metabolism, blood sugar levels, bones, and proper nerve and muscle function.
It is also excellent for combating insomnia and relieving stress and anxiety. Because it is a natural product, it can be taken long-term, provided you do not exceed the recommended daily allowance.
Magnesium is naturally found in whole-grain foods, as well as spinach, salmon, almonds, quinoa, black beans, and avocados.
Dr. Michael J. Breus, a sleep disorder expert, stated that magnesium levels protect metabolic health, stabilize mood, maintain a normal stress level, and aid in better sleep.
"Insomnia is a common symptom of magnesium deficiency. People with low magnesium levels often experience restless sleep, waking up frequently during the night," he said.
"Maintaining healthy magnesium levels often leads to deeper, more regular sleep. Magnesium plays a role in supporting deep, restorative sleep by maintaining healthy levels of GABA, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep."
Recipe: Simple Magnesium 'Sleep Candies'
To make your own delicious magnesium 'candies' (or gummies), follow this simple recipe.
Ingredients:
- 5 tablespoons Magnesium Citrate powder
- 3 tablespoons organic gelatin powder
- 250 ml lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon organic sweetener (maple syrup, honey, or stevia)
- A pinch of sea salt or Himalayan salt
Instructions:
1. Mix the magnesium powder and lemon juice. The mixture will start to fizz, so add the powder one tablespoon at a time.
2. Next, pour the mixture into a saucepan, add the gelatin, and stir.
3. Over medium heat, warm the mixture to dissolve the gelatin, and add the salt and honey/sweetener.
4. Do not over-mix it with the whisk to prevent further foaming. Cook until you have 3/4 cup of liquid. You can add more juice if you need more liquid.
5. Then, pour the mixture into molds or a baking tray, and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
