Having trouble falling asleep at night? This unique trick will help you fall asleep in less than 60 seconds!
|
Many of us find it difficult to fall asleep at night. This is a common problem, and I know quite a few people who suffer from it. It's not that they're not tired. They simply fail to soothe their mind and soul. They try to fall asleep, but their mind thinks, imagines, and begins to wander. And in those moments, it can take hours for them to fall asleep.
It's no secret that sleep deprivation can lead to many health problems. We need an average of 6-8 hours of sleep each night in order to function optimally the next day. Fatigue and lack of sleep destroys productivity and can lead to health problems - both physical and mental, in the long run.
According to WebMD website, sleep deprivation can lead to the following problems:
- Heart diseases
- Heart Attack
- Heart failure
- Irregular heartbeat
- High blood pressure
- Stroke
- Diabetes
Fortunately, there is a little trick called "The 4-7-8 breathing technique" that will help you fall asleep in just 60 seconds!
Developed by Dr. Andrew Weill, this technique is very easy to apply. It combines meditation and breathing in such a way that causes the body to let go of the stress and pressure.
The idea is to inhale through the nose for 4 seconds. Hold the breath for 7 seconds. Then exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat 3 times, and you'll fall asleep like babies.
The technique relaxes the heartbeat and mind pace and body.
