A photo of six friends enjoying a walk in the forest has gone viral online after sharp-eyed viewers noticed a particularly disturbing detail.

Meanwhile, on Reddit, users have been trying to spot the anomaly, with some joking that it takes “sniper vision” to see the extra face, while others admitting they regret focusing.

“Why not at least mention where to look?” writes one. Another, asking for a hint, says: “The only time in history we need a red circle, and we didn’t get it”.

A third user shares: “Awesome photobomb of the monster in the woods”, and a fourth writes of the creepy face: “Thanks for the nightmares forever!”.

In genuine shock at the greenish face, another user wrote: “I’m not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw this, I got chills and felt real fear. What the hell. I believe in mercy again”.
