We ensure they don't get lost, exposed to dangers, and we work hard to keep them healthy and intact.

But there are things that can not always be noticed, and unfortunately it is possible to neglect a serious danger until it's too late.

This is why the mother Jennifer Abma wanted to share the scary story of what happened to her daughter, Anastasia.

Most people are already aware of the dangers of leaving a pet or a kid inside a car on a hot summer day.

Every year we hear stories of heroes who acted quickly and rescued a child or a dog from such situations.

The biggest danger when leaving a pet or child is of course heat stroke, which can be very dangerous and even fatal.

But hot cars are not the only place where people or animals can get a heat stroke.

Jennifer Abma decided to write a post on Facebook and share the scary experience she had with her daughter, Anastasia.

She hopes her story will make people more aware and think twice, so that it doesn't happen to anyone again.

Here's what she had to say:

"It was my evening, it was the scariest moment I have ever experienced. It is a severe heat stroke. There is nothing more frightening than your child not waking up.

This is clear proof that a child doesn't have to be in the sun to get heat stroke. It took us 20 minutes to wake her up, when an ambulance arrived, they arrived with investigators because they didn't know what to expect, just like me.

It was proof of how things can change quickly.

Anastasia went to rest in her bed, and I had no idea how hot it was her room until I went to wake her up soaked in sweat, red face, boiling and not waking up for 15 minutes. The ambulance arrived faster than I imagined and checked her sugar levels which was 1.2 when it was supposed to be over 4, they gave her sucrose and within a few minutes she started crying, extremely scared.

No, it's not my fault it happened to her but it's hard not to blame yourself, it's a lesson we learned and hopefully other parents can and will take some of it and make sure and check the rooms in the house because they can be as dangerous as a hot car.

I'm still shocked and can't imagine what would have happend if I didn't go to check on her. God was definitely by our side yesterday and I thank the paramedics who came quickly to take care of my daughter".

Thank god it all ended on the best side for Jennifer and Anastasia, but it's vital to be aware of such a situation and the dangers of heat stroke, especially during the summer.

Symptoms of heat stroke:

Headaches, nausea and vomiting, blurred vision, dizziness and confusion, rapid pulse, dry and red skin.

What to do in case of a heat stroke:

It is important that those who suffer from heat stroke receive treatment immediately. Bring yourself or someone suffering from heat stroke to a cool place, immediately. Cool the body with a wet towel for example.

Drive to a hospital or call an ambulance immediately to get salts and nutrients through an infusion.
