Wife was angry with her husband for not helping at home after work. But when she looked at his shoes, the tears did not stop

Deirdre Sanford is a mother of two from South Carolina. Like many women, she gets upset when her husband comes home and just sits on the couch while she cleans up after everyone. But recently, she saw something about her husband's work shoes that made her think twice about her nerves.
"Girls, I see a lot of people complaining that your husband doesn't help you clean the house, doesn't clean up after himself, or doesn't want to go places when he gets home from work. He comes home complaining that he's tired from a long day at work and becomes an armchair potato who just wants to watch TV and play video games until it's time to go to bed".
"I think some of us don't appreciate what they are going through. I was one of these women. Until today, when I was again cleaning up after my husband's mess while nervous, I picked up his work shoes that he bought 6 months ago. He doesn't wear these shoes every day. He has another pair, and he rotates between the two pairs".
"I looked at the sole of the shoe to see if there was mud on it and I saw it. The soles of the expensive shoes he bought 6 months ago were so worn out that there was a hole in them. I almost cried. Not because the shoes were ruined.. but because it took me so long to understand what he always told me when I would yell at him for not doing anything at home. 'You don't understand what I go through every day, how hard I work, I just want to get home and relax with the kids'".
"The point I'm trying to convey is - appreciate your husband more. I know they make a mess, and sometimes it's unthinkable. But they do so much for us. They provide for the family, they keep us safe, and they are the reason we have freedom. Our husbands appreciate what we do".
"They may not show it all the time, but they appreciate that we take care of the children, they appreciate we clean house, the wash and fold laundry, the food we cook for them, the clothes we make for them at night so they can sleep an extra 10 minutes before they get up at 5 in the morning to go to work. You are their rock, and they are yours. So the next time you want to yell at your husband because he left socks in the hallway, go look at the sole of their shoe".
