Carpenter turned his van to a small wheeled home - one look inside and my jaw dropped to the floor
|
Housing prices today make it virtually impossible to buy or build our dream home.
But it is quite possible to find residential alternatives, and we love to see people's creative solutions to expensive homes and their design.
The carpenter Dipa Vasudeva Das is one of these people.
Just look into his renovated van house and try not to stay speechless.
This home on wheels is Dipa's masterpiece.
When Dipa started to work on the project, the van was just a shell.
In many ways, it was just like any other van - a means of traveling and carrying heavy equipment like thousands of professionals use it every day.
Dipa began to take out everything from the van. The idea was to make the van a home on wheels, where Dipa could live for a year - no matter how the weather is outside.
Because he lives in Prague, Czech Republic, he needed the van to withstand both cold and heat, and to provide protection from the sun and snow.
As you can already understand, it's not an easy task to build something warm and cozy in a van, but Dipa had a picture in his mind of what the end result should look like.
He wanted organic materials, and an Asian style influenced by the world of Yoga.
Dipa is an artistic carpenter, so its no wonder his project came out so well..
Look at the beauty of the inside. And Dipa hasn't even begun to shape it yet.
To keep the heat inside the van, Dipa installed a heater, and of course he built it from scratch.
Nice and cozy!
Here is the van in a little more detail. Dipa loves a minimalist life that fits his nomadic lifestyle.
The front door to the house is just spectacular!
Note that there is also storage under the door.
Can you imagine living here? I can definitely see myself spending a weekend of my dreams here.
Especially if the dog is included in the package..
The double doors in the back of the van were painted and Dipa also made some room for his bicycle.
There is plenty of room if you want to invite friends over for a cup of tea.
Not bad, is it?
Lots of room for someone who loves to travel and discover new places.
There is even a small kitchen with bow sink.
And when Dipa wants to sleep, he has a mattress ready for him for comfort.
There is even a fireplace in case it gets too cold.
In summer, it's nothing but style ...
Amazing work Dipa! We must say we were definitely impressed with your work!
I never thought its possible to turn a van into a beautiful little home on wheels, but it definitely made me dream of living on the open road one day..
