A resident of Texas, USA, was injured after he shot an armadillo in his back yard, but the bullet ricocheted back to his face.
The County Sheriff Larry Rowe said that the person, who wouldn't want to identify himself, got out of his house at Marietta, Texas, at around 3AM in the morning of Thursday. He spotted the armadillo in his yard and fired at it.
"His wife was at home. He got out, took his 38 mm gun and shot the armadillo three times", said Rowe.
The hard armour shell of the animal blocked at least one of the bullets, who ricocheted directly to the man's jaw.
The firing man was flown to a hospital, where they treated his jaw, said the Sherrif.
It's unknown about the armadillo's condition. "We haven't found it", added the Sheriff.
