Everyone washes their sheets regularly, maybe not as often as you would like, but at least twice a month is pretty normal for most people.

But, when was the last time you cleaned your mattress?

But if you have sheets and even an oilcloth on your mattress, it will get a lot dirtier than you think.

Sweat and dirt seep through the sheets and stick to the mattress, without you even noticing.

But it’s not easy to clean, and even if you could clean your mattress, it wouldn’t come out as clean as after washing it in the washing machine.

But if you follow these 3 simple steps, your mattress will be looking like new in no time. And best of all, you can keep it for a long time without replacing it!

You will need:

• 2 cups baking soda

• 4-5 drops of essential oil (e.g. lavender)

• 1 large glass jar

• 1 mesh strainer

• 1 vacuum cleaner

How to use:

1. Put the baking soda powder and essential oil in the glass jar. Lavender oil is a calming oil, which works great for your sleep. But you can use any other oil of your choice. But be careful not to choose an oil that gives you energy and prevents you from falling asleep.

2. Close the lid of the jar and shake well. Shake the jar until the oil and baking soda are completely mixed.

3. Spread the mixture evenly on the mattress using the strainer.

4. Now the hard part – wait, be patient.

Let the baking soda powder sit on the mattress for about an hour. The baking soda will attract dirt and liquids, and very quickly the mattress will look like new.

5. Take a vacuum cleaner and clean the baking soda powder mixture from the mattress. Use a small vacuum head to make the job easier.

It's a quick, easy method, and now you have a clean mattress.

Of course, this method also works great on couch cushions and other fabrics that are hard to wash.

Repeat the process once a month or whenever you think it needs cleaning. Once a year is better than never.
