10 ingenious and simple kitchen cleaning tricks that will make your life easier
|
The next quick and easy tricks are magic. We haven’t tried them all, but we know we’ll definitely be trying #7 this week. We had no idea that simple household items could be transformed into amazing cleaning products. I wish we had known about these tricks sooner.
1. Cutting Board
Does your cutting board look like it needs a makeover? Yes, ours does too. Well, here’s a quick and easy trick that will do just that. Take half a lemon and rub it along with table salt on your cutting board. The combination of the salt and lemon will help break down and dissolve the small food particles stuck inside your cutting board. Then, simply wash it with warm water and dish soap.
2. Cookie Pan
Are your pans missing their original shine? Here’s a trick that will make them look like new. Mix 1/4 cup baking soda with enough hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Rub this paste on the pan in small circles. Let it sit for 2-3 hours and then rinse it off. Magic!
3. Grater
Washing a grater is one of the most annoying things – especially if it’s been sitting in the sink for more than a day. Well, here’s an effective way to make your life easier. Just grate a potato on it. The oxalic acid in the potatoes sticks to the stubborn dirt stuck on the grater and grabs it. Then you can use the grated potato to make pancakes 🙂
4. Your microwave
We hope your microwave doesn’t look like ours. But if it does – here’s a great way to fix it, and you don’t even have to scrub and scrub. Simply fill a bowl with equal parts water and vinegar (a cup and a cup, for example) and put it in the microwave on high heat for 2 minutes. The steam will clean the inside of the microwave. All you have to do then is wipe it with a rag and the dirt will come off easily.
5. Your coffee maker
Fill your coffee maker with equal parts water and vinegar. Then pour half of the liquid out. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes. When the 30 minutes are up, pour clean water and a new filter paper. Then repeat the process one more time. All you have to do then is enjoy delicious, mold-free coffee.
6. Cast iron pans and pots
Heavy pans and pots are one of those things that no one likes to clean. Here’s a great trick that will help you clean them easily without ruining them. Use salt and olive oil! Watch the video below for instructions.
7. Removing tough stains
Coconut oil is a wonderful product with miraculous properties – but this time we’ll use it in a slightly different way than usual. Mix equal parts coconut oil and baking soda to remove tough stains from your dishes. This will work on everything!
8. Blender
Another thing that’s not fun to clean is your blender. Our blender is heavy and bulky, and it’s a real pain to clean. So why not let it clean itself? With this trick, simply add hot water and dish soap to your blender, turn it on, and voila – your blender has cleaned itself.
9. Toaster
There’s nothing like sparkling, shiny kitchenware to soothe the soul. To clean greasy, dirty appliances like your toaster, simply mix water and cream of tartar and scrub lightly and gently to clean.
10. Stone Burners
Finally. An easy way to clean stone burners. This solution uses ammonia, so work carefully.
The first thing you need to do is buy some regular ammonia. Put each burner in a Ziploc bag and pour 1/4 cup of ammonia inside. Seal the bag tightly and place it on a baking sheet overnight (leave it outside just to prevent steam from escaping the bag and spreading throughout the house).
While the bags are burning, the steam will break down any grease and dirt that has stuck to them. Then in the morning you can wipe them down and they will be clean.
Very important!! Never mix ammonia with bleach – it creates toxic fumes!
That’s it, now you have all the tips and tricks you need to keep your kitchen clean and sparkling and do it with ease!
Don’t forget to share these tips with your friends and family. They will definitely thank you!
