Summer is my favorite season - I like the sun and the high temperatures. But not everyone appreciates the heat.

Especially women, who suffer from swollen legs and feet during the hot summer months.

When the heat rises, the blood vessels dilate and the blood leaks into the surrounding tissues. It helps the body to cool itself.

But when the body heats up too much, it has trouble returning blood from the limbs back to the heart - and it accumulates in the legs and especially in the feet.

In addition, flights, prolonged sitting and also pregnancy can cause swollen feet.

Flip flops don't really help - and most likely you are aware of this pain.

Fortunately, there are some home remedies that can give your feet some relief this summer.

With the tips below, you can make your life a lot easier!

1. Foot bath with peppermint

I like this

An effective method to soothe swollen feet is to soak them in cold water for three minutes and then place them in warm water for one minute.

The more you do this, the faster you will feel the difference.

Another tip is to put some mint leaves in the tub. The leaves accelerate and improve blood circulation in the feet and prevent cramps.

2. Epsom salt

I like this

Fill a tub with lukewarm water and add about 60 grams of Epsom salt. Soak your feet for 15 minutes and then gently pat them dry.

According to Livestrong, Epsom salt relieves pain in the feet, removes unpleasant odor, and softens the skin. And in addition, it releases excess fluids, treats blisters and more.

3. Apple cider vinegar

I like this

Apple cider vinegar is rich in potassium and can reduce swelling in the legs and feet. The potassium in the apple cider vinegar helps the cells and balances the fluids in the legs.

Mix apple cider vinegar with about 200 ml of water and an equal amount of apple cider vinegar. Dip a towel in the liquid, and wrap it around your feet. Then do a 30 minute compress.

4. Chamomile oil

I like this

Massaging chamomile oil is not only relaxing, but can also reduce swelling in the feet. Chamomile oil is anti-inflammatory and can be applied directly to the skin.

Massage the oil into the skin yourself - or ask someone to do it for you!
