Dealing with the police can be a stressful experience, and let’s face it, scary too. For one woman who was recently stopped by a police officer on her way to a job interview, the encounter was quite frightening at first.
Moments later, the officer asked the woman to open the trunk. The woman took her camera and began taking pictures. But what happened next was something she did not expect.
Chy-Niece Thacker was on her way to a job interview when a police officer ordered her to pull over at the side. She immediately stopped the car on the side of the road, turned off the engine and waited for him to approach her.
The cop - Officer Jenkins, noticed that Chy-Niece's headlights were not working, something she had a hard time believing because she only replaced them a month ago. She explained that the mechanic wanted to charge her $600 just to do a brief inspection of the car.
Chy-Niece had already prepared herself for the fine she was convinced she was about to receive from the policeman. Instead, he did something amazing.
Officer Jenkins asked Chy-Niece to open the trunk. Then he looked at the wiring behind the headlights - and began to play with the cables that lay behind them.
Very soon after, the problem was solved, and Chy-Niece's brake lights worked again.
Overwhelmed by the policeman's kindness, Chy-Niece shared on Facebook the story on the encounter with the policeman, which led to hundreds of thousands of loving and supportive comments in the wonderful policeman. More than 500,000 people liked and shared her post, and Officer Jenkins became an overnight hero.
"He could easily have given me a fine, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of the officer role and went into the mechanic's role to make sure everything was fine with the car", she wrote on Facebook.
So this happened just now. I'm on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled. Both brake lights decided...
