Every person has value, no matter what he or she looks like. And that includes Supatra 'Natty' Sasuphan from Bangkok, Thailand.
She suffers from a rare phenomenon called Hypertrichosis, or Werewolf Syndrome.
Fortunately, ‘Natty’ has always been surrounded by friends who love her because of who she is.
"I don't feel different, and I have many friends at school", Supatra said when Guinness Book of Records recognized her as the most hairy girl in the world in 2010.
Now, 19-year-old Supatra has shaved off all of her thick facial hair after meeting the love of her life. Her message to everyone about self-love is a message that is definitely worth sharing.
A rare syndrome causes Supatra 'Natty' Sasuphan from Thailand to have thick hair growing all over her body. In 2010 she won the title of ‘Hairiest Girl in the World’ when her photos reached the Guinness Book of Records.
At the time she said: "Being hairy makes me special."
'Natty' suffers from a rare disease that has no cure called Hypertrichosis, or werewolf syndrome.
The girl is only 1 out of 50 known cases worldwide of werewolf syndrome. The disease is caused by an abnormal chromosome and has been documented since Middle Ages. Sometimes people understood the disease, those suffering from it were called 'werewolves'.
Supatra has thick hair that grows on the face, arms, ears, legs and back. She tried laser surgery, but that didn't help or prevent the hair from growing back.
But while most people who suffer from the disease hide and don't want to be seen in public, Supatra is a confident girl with a lot of friends.
She is one of the most accepted girls in her school, and everyone wants to be her friends.
"There were some kids who would laugh at me and call me a monkey face but they don't do that anymore", Supatra said.
Despite her unique appearance, Supatra grew up just like any other child. She loves to swim, dance to her favorite music and hang out with friends.
Suptra dreams of being a doctor, she wants to help sick and painful people.
But the girl's future didn't always look promising. When she was born she had to undergo two surgeries, just so she could breathe.
Her father, Sammrueng, said: "We found out about Supatra's condition when she was born - we did not know it before."
At first Supatra had difficulty breathing, as her nostrils were too small. For the first three months of her life she was in an incubator that helped her survive. She spent 10 months in the hospital.
"We were very worried that she would not survive", her father said.
And as Supatra grew, so did her hair. Her mother would cut it regularly.
Today she is 19 years old, and Supatra is healthy and happy, not only that, but she has also met the love of her life.
Her father confirmed that she is still living with the disease, but that she had started shaving her face and body since she met her husband.
Supatra is proud to show her love on Facebook and she has only good things to say about her husband. How wonderful that they met each other!
"Not just my first love, you are the love of my life", she wrote below a photo of them on Facebook.
Supatra is an eternal optimist and a strong and loving girl, despite the disease she suffers from.
She is proud of who she is and wants to be treated like everyone else.
