Gwen Stephanie was furious after reading a mother's sign at her show - immediately calling her son to come on stage
|
When Gwen Stephanie performed in front of thousands in Florida, she looked down the crowd and saw something that immediately caught her eyes.
A female fan held a sign on which something was handwritten.
Unfortunately, Gwen couldn't see what exactly was written on the sign. So, being someone who is interested in her fans just as much as they are in her, she asked the woman to pass the sign on to her.
When Gwen read aloud what the woman had written, you could tell it touched her heart. "My son got bullied from first to fifth grade. He would always come home sad, and then go to his room, listen to your music and smile".
After reading the moving words, there was no way for Gwen to continue the show without meeting the woman's son. So she turned to the boy, called Brandon, and said 'Get on stage now!'
People in the crowd let Brandon pass over and suddenly the boy found himself standing on stage in front of his goddess. It was a once in a lifetime moment for him.
And when Gwen held Brandon's hands and swung them into the air in a kind of triumphant move and gave him a hug, Brandon couldn't hold back the tears. For a moment, he seemed to have gained the confidence he needed to face the thugs.
Stephanie shared the moving moment with her Facebook and Instagram fans and wrote, "About 3 years ago when things were hard in my life I prayed to God everyday that I could get a chance to use my gift that God gave me and make a difference in some way in this world - last night this little guy was the answer to my prayers. #Zerotoleranceforbullies #onelove thisiswhatthetruthfeelslike"
We were very impressed with the way Gwen uses her fame and publicity to give power to kids like Brandon. It brought tear to our eyes knowing that this little boy would return to school with confidence and an upright head. Watch the amazing and moving moment in the video below:
When a local TV channel asked Brandon how he felt standing next to his goddess, he said: "It was unbelievable, like it wasn't really happening".
Gwen Stephanie praised Brandon for being her fan and listening to her music. She also told him that music is far more important than anything bullies have to tell him.
Share if you, too, love Gwen Stephanie for her anti-bullying move.
