2. Showing affection at the wrong time
Your dog will never learn what's permitted and what's not if you shower affection on it when it did something he shouldn't. Yes, guilty puppies are cute, but they still need to learn to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong, especially when it comes to bites and cutters.
3. Overfeeding
Snacks are a great way to motivate good behavior, but if you overdo it, you may be putting the health of your dog in danger. Pay attention to the weight of the dog, Do not feed too much, and look for healthier options when it comes to snacks.
4. Do not forget their teeth
It is recommended to brush your dog's teeth as much as possible. Even daily. Dogs suffer from diseases and infections in teeth that don't get treatment, so at the very least, take the dog to a veterinarian for a teeth examination at least once a year.
5. Wrong colar
Every dog breed has its own necessary collar. Short-nosed dogs can be injured seriously with a collar wrapped around their necks, but in fact they have to go with a harness. Ask a veterinarian or trainer and do a little research before you buy a collar.
6. Let the dog lead you
When you take the dog for a walk, do not let the dog be the one who takes you out. This can lead to the fact that they run into the road or other risky behavior problems. If you notice it happening, buy a shorter leash or tame your dog to walk beside you.
7. Do not forget to castrate and / or sterilize!
It's that important. So many dogs are executed every year due to unwanted pregnancies. Don't let your dog contribute to this grim situation.
Sharing dangerous foods
Sharing food with your dog is fine in certain situations, but make sure that what you give it is not dangerous for it, such as chocolate. Do your research before you give your dog leftovers.
9. Beat the dog
A hit will only destroy the relationship between you and your dog. Hitting a dog in any form will lower its confidence, and sometimes it just makes the dog become more aggressive in a later stage.
10. Use the cage as punishment
You want your dog to feel that the cage is a safe place, not a bad place. If you want your dog to obey when you tell it to get into the cage if that's where it sleeps, never, ever use it as a punishment.
