Modeling swimwear is often perceived as a showcase of provocative sexuality; however, as demonstrated in these stunning photographs, this does not always have to be the case.
These images illustrate that one does not need to be young to wear a swimsuit elegantly and gracefully—an idea beautifully embodied by Yasmina Rossi.
The following images are the result of a collaboration between the online retailer The Dreslyn and the lingerie brand Land of Women. Brooke Taylor Corcia, the founder of The Dreslyn, aimed to convey that swimwear advertising need not be sexualized and that adult women can be represented in a dignified manner.
According to The Huffington Post, Rossi was chosen for this campaign for specific reasons: "She is a woman who radiates health and vitality," Corcia stated. "She is self-assured, a visual artist, and takes great care of herself. This line celebrates women who live well, love to travel, are intelligent, self-confident, and unafraid to express it."
Looking at the pictures, it’s hard to believe the model is 61 years old
Rossi exemplifies that age is not a barrier to being a swimsuit model.
Believe it or not, Yasmina Rossi is indeed 61 years old in these images.
Born in France in 1955, she spent her childhood on the island of Corsica.
Today, she resides in California and works as a model, portrait artist, and photographer.
These photographs are part of a collaboration between The Dreslyn and Land of Women.
The founder of The Dreslyn expressed that the concept behind this collection was to find an alternative approach to swimwear advertising—one that distances itself from the sexualized imagery typically associated with it.
Regarding the selection of Rossi, the founder remarked, "This is a woman who radiates health and vitality; she is confident, artistic, and takes great care of herself."
What is the secret to her beauty? "There is no special secret," Rossi explained. "The only thing I did was consume organic food long before it became trendy."
"I apply oil to my skin, specifically canola oil, and once a week I exfoliate with a mixture of olive oil and sugar. I eat one avocado daily and strictly consume organic meat and fish."
This initiative is a courageous and original step by a company unafraid to differentiate itself from the crowd. These photographs are absolutely breathtaking, aren’t they? They serve as a testament that beauty knows no age.
