16-year-old girl died suddenly. hours later, doctors found a shocking discovery in her stomach

When teenager Jasmine Beever suddenly lost consciousness, she was rushed to the hospital.
She briefly regained consciousness upon arrival — but tragically passed away soon after, leaving doctors with the difficult task of determining what caused her sudden death.
Only after examining her stomach did they discover something that could explain the shocking turn of events.
A Normal Day Turns Tragic
It had started out as a completely ordinary school day for the 16-year-old. But at some point, Jasmine began feeling unwell and decided to go home early. There, she collapsed — and was rushed to the hospital.
The Devastating News
At the hospital, Jasmine’s family received heartbreaking news: she had passed away. Doctors explained the unusual cause of death — a severe case of peritonitis, an inflammation of the thin layer of tissue lining the stomach and abdomen, often resulting from an infection.
But it was what they found inside her stomach that truly shocked everyone.
A Rare and Disturbing Discovery
Inside Jasmine’s stomach, doctors found a large hairball. It had become infected, and because the body couldn’t break it down, it led to the development of an ulcer that eventually ruptured — causing fatal organ failure.
The condition is linked to trichotillomania, a compulsive disorder in which a person repeatedly pulls out their own hair — and, in some cases, eats it.
What might seem like a harmless habit can, over time, cause hair to accumulate in the stomach and form a solid mass that blocks the digestive tract. The disorder is sometimes referred to as “Rapunzel syndrome.”
Rest in Peace, Jasmine
May Jasmine Beever rest in peace.
