This guy travels several hours every day to provide water for wildlife during a drought

A pea farmer is making sure wildlife in drought-stricken Kenya doesn't go thirsty.
Patrick Kilonzo Mwale documents his visits to waterholes that support elephants, zebras, lions, and buffalo on Facebook.
Funded by donations, Patrick delivers about 15,000 liters of water with each visit.
He drives about 50 kilometers four times a week, costing him $326 each way.
Patrick said many animals depend on him, with many waiting by the waterhole for his daily visit and some even gathering around his water well because of the ‘smell of the water’.
In a post earlier this month, he wrote that several ‘giants.. approached our truck without fear, as we had a valuable commodity they had missed’.
“Hey guys! Today I thought I could count the number of buffalo eating at the waterhole and drinking water, but I couldn’t because there was such a large herd”, Patrick wrote on Tuesday. “Today there were elephants and other animals. Thank you all for your warm responses and shares that help get more donations every day. More drinking water projects will be implemented soon”.
Update 2025: Patrick's amazing project has stopped accepting donations, as so many people have donated to this project.
