Genius couple built a magical fire pit in their backyard - and it's a lot easier to build than you think

Many people live in freezing places during the winter, so it’s no wonder they enjoy summer so much. Enjoy a cold drink on the porch – or even better, enjoy a nice summer breeze by a campfire.

One couple decided to take that experience to the max when they designed and built a DIY pergola and fire pit.

Brett and Laura from Alabama, who have their own blog, are a wonderful couple with a beautiful family – and they’re getting creative with their home.

See below how they designed this gorgeous pergola and fire pit.

The couple decided to build this fire pit as a gathering place for family and friends on their farm. The goal? Hours of wonderful, relaxing evenings spent together.

“We have a passion for repurposing things and were thrilled to see the transformation of our space”, said Lauren. “This is definitely one of our favorite DIY projects and our favorite area of ​​the farm is the fire pit and pergola”.

According to the couple, all the materials, except for the seating area, cost them $1,300. For the seating area, they chose six rocking chairs that cost about $100 each.

Around the fire pit are also six comfortable chairs, as in the photo below.

“It’s truly an oasis outside of the beach and an area that we created for one purpose only – to unite and bring our family and friends together”, said Lauren. “It’s become a talking subject in our small town and we love to eat around the fire, watch the stars and relax here at the end of each day”.
