A baby earned the nickname ‘Mowgli’ after being born with 5 cm of thick black hair

One look at little Oscar Jones and you will be forgiven if you think it's Mowgli from The Jungle Book.
The baby was born with almost 5 cm of thick black hair on his head. The report is that his lush hair was clearly visible on the ultrasound tests when he was in the womb, but the doctors assumed that the hair would be only one cm and not five cm.
Needless to say, his parents were very surprised by the amount of hair on his head when he was born. They reportedly had to take him to the barber when he was only 8 weeks old.
The parents Sarah Morris, 36, and Joshua Jones, 29, said they get excited comments on the street when they walk with Oscar.
Oscar is now 20 weeks old, and Sarah said they are calling him 'Mowgli'.
She said: "We just could not believe how much hair he had when he was born! It's not something you see often! His hair was very thick and very black. Joshua and I have brown hair, but his hair is more like his own father's".
"I think Oscar is aware that he has a lot of hair. When we lay him down, he puts his hand on his head and plays with his hair. But he starts crying when he pulls it too hard, because his fingers get tangled inside it".
Sarah suffered from gestational diabetes when she was pregnant with Oscar. After one week in May, in which she experienced very strong heartburn, she and Joshua decided to go to the doctor. In this test they first saw Oscar's hair on an ultrasound.
“We went for a regular checkup, and found out that Oscar already had hair one cm long. So we expected him to have some hair on his head when he was born. But we did not expect this amount!".
"I looked at him and said: he looks like Mowgli! Everyone else looked at him and said, you're right! He's Mowgli! Since then, Joshua's parents call him little Mowgli. It started because of his hair, but he's also very naughty, so I think the nickname will stay with him".
At the time of writing the Oscar baby article has almost 13 centimeres of hair on her head!
